‘The Queen of Country Music’ in Collagraph

This is a something I made in a recent collagraph print workshop we had here at GSA towers. No real rationale here, just thought it would be fun to render one of the worlds most plastic people in a decidedly un-plastic medium.

Angus Young Rides Again!

The illustration department had a nice drawing day in Kelvingrove Museum yesterday, we were told to insert figures into our drawings to help with scale. I didn’t have time to check out the AC/DC exhibition in full although it has been fully recomended to check it out by my collegue Julie.

Arab Strap Say ‘See You Later!’

This is a compilation of Arab Strap related songs. Maybe not really a ‘best of’, just the songs I listen to most. The sleeve is a re-doodle of the bands Ten Years of Tears compilation.

I made it for a friend who I met when she was visiting Glasgow recently. She also met Aidan Moffat from Arab Strap during the visit and wanted to hear some of his music. She has now retreated to her distant Illanois homeland so it’s a late parting gift… The original title was ‘Arab Strap say Goodbye Forever!’ but that seemed a bit dramatic. Let’s be optimistic!

In return I’m getting a compilation of ‘The Worst American Country Music Ever’. I obviously can’t wait!

If you want a copy too, just send me an E-mail!

Moon Palace

This is a minute long film based on some of the themes and imagery contained in the book Moon Palace by Paul Auster. I helped make it a few months ago as part of a project in colaboration with some of my ridiculiously talented and handsome class mates: Lydia Brownlee, Mary Grieve and Calum Rice.

The main lesson learnt was that ‘a team working on bellys full of malaysian food and takeaway coffees is a happy/productive team.’

The Truth About Scotland’s Man On The Moon

  Listen on Soundcloud

Documentary narrated by Andrew John Beltran about the life of Thomas Agnew (1935 - 2010), the first scotsman in space and the eighth man on the moon.

Glasgow East Space Centre Sign

We Correctly Anticipated Shit Weather

This is number one of a set of four postcards from festivals I made last summer. They’re all pretty rough and ready but I quite like them.

Space Shuttle

This is a very rough version of a lino cut I’ve made for a poster about space for my last project of 2nd year.

NO IDEA

I’ve been having trouble coming up with ideas but I got a book of hand drawn typograpy today called ‘Hand Job: A Catalog of Type’ so I’ve been having a go at some of my own. Work is in progress.

Boys Keep Swinging

I’m having a bit of a Bowie-centric week in terms of listening to music so here’s my touching tribute to the man who sold the world.
